role: designer, project manager
objective: explain the significance and mutual benefits of America’s relationship with South Korea and with Southeast Asia
audience: policymakers, individuals in the field of international relations, students, teachers
For this edition of Korea Matters for America, the client asked that we maintain the style my firm had established in earlier booklets in the same series. However, they wanted to tailor it to appeal to a Korean audience. I developed a color palette inspired by historic Korean architecture, employed a rice paper texture, and designed fan-shaped pie charts.
In working on ASEAN Matters for America, we maintained the color coded chapters, but incorporated gradients for a diffused effect. I especially loved working on the foldout time line, which I turned into a rainbow that showed the historical progression of US relations with Southeast Asia.
